Early Life and Career
Dhananjay Singh was born in Jaunpur on 16 July 1975 in a Rajput Family. His father's name is Rajdev Singh. He first became known as a student activist when he attended Tilak Dhari (TD) College in Jaunpur. He also studied at Lucknow University and graduated with a master's in Political Science.
Between 1996-2013, he had been charged 4 times under the Gangster Act. By 2022, he had
been the subject of three dozen criminal cases, ten still pending and others being dismissed or acquired, partially due to a witness backing out.
In October 1998, Police claimed that they killed Dhananjay Singh in an encounter in Bhadohi. However, he appeared in public alive 4 months later, leading to an investigation that filed cases on up to 34 officers for the false claim.
Personal Life
Dhananjay Singh married Meenu Singh, on December 2006. She committed Suicide ten months later on September 2007. He married his second wife, Dr. Jagriti Singh, on June 2009. They separated after a mutual disagreement and he married a BJP politician, Srikala Reddy, in 2017. She won the Jaunpur District Council Chairperson poll in 2021.
